Artist with dog

Andrea was born in Scituate, Massachusetts and developed interest in art as a child. To support herself as a young adult she worked as a photographer and learned techniques of air brush art to correct and restore prints. With the advent of computer enhancement in this field she returned to her childhood hobby in 1990. She began taking classes, first at the New England School of Art and Design and then with Robert Cormier, renowned portrait artist. After the long illness and death of her parents, Robert and Elise, Andrea spent a year hiking and painting on the island of Martha's Vineyard. The experience was both cathartic and refreshing as she developed and refined her skills as a plein air landscape artist. It was a final gift from her parents after their tandem deaths that she pursue the work they had always encouraged her to do.

Taking the opportunities of the area’s seascapes she developed a style of watercolor that is complementary to any scene of southeast New England and wherever her travels may take her. Andrea's work has appeared on numerous casual clothing lines as well as business logos, stationery, greeting cards and publications throughout greater New England . She has been commissioned many times over the years to paint landscapes and objects of interests by those who love and enjoy the restful line and calming palette of her work. Her art may be found hanging in many homes throughout the U.S and abroad. She has been represented by several fine art galleries and her work is currently being represented by Fine Arts Studio which she owns and operates, Salt Meadow Gallery located at 598 Route 6A in Sandwich MA, and Wareham Art Gallery located at 400 Main Street in Wareham MA. She is a juried artists member of Cape Cod Art Association.

Aside from her work in the studio, Andrea enjoys helping others to develop and realize their artistic potential by teaching watercolor, drawing and pen and ink at various continuing education centers and art associations throughout the South Shore and Cape Cod. Presently she is teaching at the Sandwich Community School, Wareham Art Gallery, and North River Arts Society as well as private lessons and plein air workshops at Fine Arts Studio.

She is also available for commissions of pet portraits, house portraits and subjects of interest. The price of her work ranges from $300 to $1,200. Please visit the various links to view specific prices or contact the artist herself at andrea@andreafavret.com.

A Special Thank You

In 1992 my husband Bob asked me to sell my professional photography equipment and invest in art supplies to work toward my lifelong goal of becoming a professional artist. He helped to institute a rule that I have since lived by, to touch art everyday. Whether I was anxious about one of the kids or frustrated about reaching a new level of expertise, Bob was there to encourage and support me. Sometimes he would sit me down and tell me I had to paint or draw until whatever situation at hand was resolved. For all the paint supplies, tuition, missed dinners and drying of tears, thank you Bob, my true patron of the arts. Your constant support and belief in me has made this difficult journey one of truth, joy and discovery. I love you now and into eternity.
